Overview
Working as part of a ICFC and global engineering team focused on control systems for equipment products for GE Water China. The Electrical Controls Design Engineer will provide complete electrical infrastructure support to the GE Water product line including enhanced control models and logic, product cost reductions and localization. Design work will include localizing to various country standards and serving as a key interface between GE Water and GE Fanuc. The position reports to the Project Engineering Leader Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
The designing and programming of electrical control systems for the water treatment industry that meet customer requirements and that are adhere to applicable local and international standards (UL, CSA, CE, AS 3000).
Provide electric system cost estimates and firm costing of designs.
Principal duties include development of control philosophies, design of PLC control enclosures and electrical systems, selection of motor control components, programming PLCs and HMIs, field support and document creation/preparation. Documentation includes all necessary wiring diagrams, panel payouts, material component descriptions, system bills of materials, PLC ladder logic, HMI graphics, Control Narratives and other supporting documentation necessary to adhere to client specifications during the submittal process and to ensure the correct interpretation for the manufacturing process.
Field support includes the engineering support of the workshop during fabrication and testing in addition to support of field service technicians during start-up and commissioning.

Tertiary level education in engineering discipline preferably electrical or computer controls related.
Minimum 5 years experience in electrical design, field electrical applications and troubleshooting
PLC and HMI programming experience with Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc products
Good technical writing skills
Working knowledge of English language

The ideal candidate will possess and demonstrate skills in requirements gathering, design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions for the Rockwell Automation and GE Prophecy HMI.SCADA packages.
Autocad and SAP capable
Electrical design experience in Water industry
Design experience with AS 3000
